The Centre for Chinese Studies at Stellenbosch University in South Africa published in June 2015 an analysis titled "China-Egypt Trade and Investment Ties -- Seeking a Better Balance" by Emma Scott.
The study concludes that China remains a recent and relatively small player in the overall Egyptian economy. European Union member states, Turkey, and the Gulf countries remain by far more important trading and investing partners for Egypt.
