Brookings published on 5 July 2016 commentary titled "Political Party Training: China's Ideological Push in Africa?" by Yun Sun, Africa Growth Initiative.
The author argues that China is actively promoting its model of political and economic development (authoritarian capitalism) in Africa through political party training programs, which constitute a key component of Chinese policy toward Africa. The effort has been well received in Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Namibia, and South Africa.
