As China Expands in Africa, Challenges Increase

The National published on 19 November 2018 a commentary titled "China in Africa: An Increasingly Uneasy Marriage of Interests" by Ismail Einashe, London-based journalist.

The author looks at a growing tension in Sino-African relations but concludes the continent is in the midst of a shift into a post-western era. China is still working out what sort of superpower it wants to be: a global investor, one dedicated to advancing its own geostrategic interests, or some combination of both.
