Africa: Learning from China's Infrastructure Development

The South African Institute of International Affairs published in December 2018 a study titled "Can Africa Build Greener Infrastructure While Speeding Up Its Development? Lessons from China" by Lauren A. Johnston, director of New South Economics, and Robert J. Earley, EQ Consulting.

China is the largest bilateral external financing source and builder (for profit by Chinese companies) of infrastructure in Africa. This study shows how Africa can draw lessons from China's experiences in infrastructure development.
