The New York Times published on 18 March 2020 an article titled "'I Feel Strong and Free': Running Takes Hold among Women in Somaliland" by Abdi Latif Dahir.
Women in Somaliland have joined efforts to raise money for education by participating in a ten kilometer marathon. East Africa is famous for its male and female marathon runners, but Somaliland is turning it into a charity event.
