The International Crisis Group (ICG) published on 15 April 2020 a commentary titled "Managing the Politics of Ethiopia's COVID-10 Crisis."
The ICG concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly altered political dynamics in Ethiopia and provided the justification for pausing an electoral schedule that was threatening to become violent. It has also given Ethiopia's politicians a reason to come together.
