The China Africa Project posted on 10 August 2020 a story titled "Why the Lack of Chinese Transparency Undermines Trust in Kenya's Sustainable Development" by Kang-Chun Cheng, Nairobi-based ecologist.
There are nearly 400 Chinese construction firms in Kenya. The Kenyan government has prioritized Chinese contractors over Kenyan ones. While the Chinese bring expertise, speed, and deftness to their work, the author concludes corruption is the main reason why local companies are handicapped in comparison to their foreign counterparts.
