SupChina posted on 10 December 2020 a commentary titled "China Is Changing Course in Africa" by Eric Olander, co-founder of the China Africa Project.
The author argues that China's economy now requires less of the raw materials purchased from Africa. Although trade and investment will remain an important part of China's relationship with Africa, Beijing will focus on furthering Chinese domestic political objectives rather than providing capital and infrastructure to Africa.
