The International Crisis Group (ICG) published on 10 February 2021 a lengthy report titled "Toward a Viable Future for South Sudan."
The ICG reports that the peace agreement in South Sudan is fragile and the threat of a return to full blown war remains. South Sudan's political system must distribute power more broadly before elections can be held.
