Al-Monitor, a Washington-based paper that focuses on the Middle East, posted on 11 February 2021 an article titled "Will Sudan-Ethiopia Border Conflict Affect GERD Talks?" by Hagar Hosny.
The article suggests that the Ethiopia-Sudan border conflict will likely affect negotiations on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on the Blue Nile, at a minimum delaying further talks involving Ethiopia, Sudan, and Egypt.
