The Observer Research Foundation published on 27 October 2021 a commentary titled "China and Africa - Is It the End of the Honeymoon Period?" by Malancha Chakrabarty.
The author suggested that the best days in the China-Africa relationship may have come to an end as African countries become increasingly concerned about external debt and Chinese financing institutions become increasingly selective in the loans that they offer to African countries.
