The World Food Program published on 28 January 2022 a report titled "Severe Hunger Tightens Grip on Northern Ethiopia."
The World Food Program (WFP) survey concluded that 4.6 million people in Tigray (excluding Western Tigray) are food insecure with 2 million of that number "severely food insecure." No food convoy has reached Tigray since mid-December. The WFP plans similar surveys in Amhara and Afar regions.
