The Observer Research Foundation published on 5 July 2022 a commentary titled "China's Conflict Mediation in the Horn of Africa: Only Rhetoric or Practical?" by Abhishek Mishra.
The conference ultimately failed to deliver on its stated aim of discussing China's mediation efforts in the Horn of Africa.
