Authoritarian Governments More Open to Chinese Workers in Africa

The Conversation published on 11 January 2023 an analysis titled "Chinese Workers on Africa's Infrastructure Projects: The Link with Host Political Regimes" by Pippa Morgan, Duke Kunshan University, and Andrea Ghiselli, Fudan University.

Drawing on data from 195 countries and territories, the authors found that democratic governments were more likely to limit the number of Chinese workers on infrastructure projects than was the case for autocratic governments.
