The Jerusalem Strategic Tribune published in June 2023 a commentary titled "Sudan's Forever War" by Alberto M. Fernandez, US charge d'affaires in Khartoum from 2007 to 2009.
The longer the fighting continues in Sudan, the greater will be the need to seek new sources of ammunition and equipment and the greater the likelihood it will expand into other areas. The author envisages it will end with either a Sudan Armed Forces victory or a long-term stalemate.
