Human Rights Watch published on 11 July 2023 a report titled "Sudan: Darfur Town Destroyed."
Human Rights Watch reported that the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces and allied Arab militias destroyed the town of Misterei in Darfur, executed at least 28 ethnic Masalit, and killed and injured dozens of civilians during an attack in May. It called on the International Criminal Court to investigate the atrocities.
