The New York Times published on 7 September 2023 an article titled "'They Blew Our Lives Up': South Sudanese Flee War in Sudan" by Abdi Latif Dahir.
Some 250,000 people have fled the fighting in Sudan to take refuge in South Sudan, which is poorly equipped to care for them. Most of these refugees had earlier fled civil war in South Sudan to seek refuge in Sudan.
