Ethiopia Insight posted on 27 May 2020 an analysis titled "Let the Competition Begin!" by Samuel Gebre, Ethiopia-based journalist.
Ethiopia has issued a call for bidders to replace one of the world's few remaining state telcom monopolies, known as Ethio Telecom. This will be a dramatic change for Ethiopian telecommunications. A half dozen telcom companies have expressed interest so far.

Following Mobile Money in Somaliland
The Rift Valley Institute published in November 2015 a study titled "Following Mobile Money in Somaliland" by Gianluca Iazzolino, PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh. The author maps the landscape of the mobile money transfer system in Somaliland. He identifies the importance of trust at its foundation and the role that banking, financial institutions, and technology have played in the making of Somaliland.

China-Africa ICT Cooperation in Education
This is Africa published on 29 June 2015 an article titled "Africa's Schools Targeted in China Tech Export Move" by Stephen Haggard, head of a technology-based learning company in Nairobi, Kenya.
China hosted a conference for delegations from 20 African countries aimed at producing a policy framework for the role of information and communication technology (ICT) in education up to 2030. China promised to support ICT in education in developing countries.
