Chatham House in London hosted on 31 October 2013 Mohamed Bihi Yonis, Somaliland's foreign minister, and Hersi Ali Hassan, Somaliland's minister of presidential affairs. It published a summary of their remarks in a document titled "Somaliland: Progress towards a Regional and International Role."
The Somaliland representatives briefed on developments n Somaliland and priorities for the government, including progress on the new voter registration system and ties between Somaliland and Somalia. They also discussed how Somaliland can engage more effectively with the international community.

Kenya's 2013 Elections
The International Crisis Group (ICG) released on 17 January 2013 a detailed analysis titled Kenya's 2013 Elections. It concluded that the elections, scheduled for 4 March 2013 face an "unacceptably high" risk of violence.
