The on-going civil war in Sudan has plunged the country into one of its worst modern food crises, with conditions deteriorating sharply since 2024. Unlike historical famines in Sudan, the current one is man-made. The warring parties are using control over food supplies as a tool of war, while international funding fails to respond to current needs.
