Kenya's Jubilee Party Sees China's Communist Party as Organizational Model

The Daily Nation published on 7 June 2020 an interview titled "Tuju Admits Jubilee Has Its Challenges" with Raphael Tuju, Jubilee Party secretary general.

In response to a question about ties between Kenya's ruling Jubilee Party and the Communist Party of China, the secretary general replied: "The Chinese Communist Party is the biggest political party in the whole world.  Its grassroots organisation is second to none.  Jubilee Party can only aspire, and where possible learn some lessons.  It is unlikely that in our lifetime, Jubilee can get anywhere close to the organisational levels of the Communist Party of China.  In any case the cultural contexts are very different.  But once again what is wrong from learning from the most successful and the best run?"

Kenya: Kenyatta-Odinga Deal

The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) posted on 23 March 2018 a commentary titled "Raila Odinga Makes Another Dubious Deal" by Peter Fabricius, ISS consultant.

The author suggests that the 9 March reconciliation between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga has obvious advantages for Kenyatta but less obvious ones for Odinga. The proof of the deal is whether the joint office Kenyatta and Odinga set up really tackles fundamental challenges identified in the agreement.
