South African Foreign Policy: Up with China, Down with the US

SABC News published on 23 September 2015 an article titled "ANC Policy about China, US, Terrorist Arms a Fairy Tale? -- Analyst" by Christelle du Toit.  Increasingly South Africa's ruling party, the African National Congress, has supported China's economic model and foreign policy while distancing itself ever further from the United States, sometimes relying on fiction as it does so.  The article quotes defense analyst Helmoed Heimat, who is critical of some elements of U.S. policy but takes the ANC to task for propagating its fictions.
