On 13 October 2015 I gave a presentation titled "Challenges to US Diplomacy: Dealing with Terrorism and Instability in the Horn of Africa" to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Annandale, Virginia.
The focus of the presentation was the high degree of conflict in the Horn of Africa since World War II, reasons for the conflict, the record of countries in the Horn on governance, proxy wars, piracy, terrorism, and the challenges for US diplomacy.
