The Mail & Guardian Africa published on 27 December 2015 an analysis titled "2015: This Was the Real Year of the Chinese Dragon in Africa."
The article concluded that the 2015 FOCAC in Johannesburg demonstrated China's goal of preparing Africa for the extension of its new aggressive foreign policy designed to become a global power and shift the balance from a US-dominated system. The article sets up a more competitive scenario in Africa between the United States and China than I believe the situation merits.
