The wide-ranging conference included opening remarks by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Linda Thomas-Greenfield, a panel discussion on "A Continent Evolving: African Megatrends," a panel discussion on "Africa's Evolving Partnerships," a keynote address by Jeffrey Herbst, a panel discussion on "Opportunities and Challenges for the U.S. in Africa in the Coming Decade," and closing remarks by former Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson.
