The Council on Foreign Relations posted on 9 November 2016 a piece titled "Sub-Saharan Africa and a Trump Administration" by John Campbell, former U.S. ambassador to Nigeria.
Campbell rightly notes that Sub-Saharan Africa did not feature in the presidential campaign. (There were frequent references to Libya in North Africa). As a result, this piece does not tell us much about what President-elect Trump will do in Africa. Campbell does conclude, with understatement in my view, that "Africa is unlikely to be near the top of the Trump administration's policy agenda." But then that is true for all administrations so far.
