US Counterterrorism Shifts to Africa

The Washington Post published on 3 November 2017 an article titled "Deaths of Four U.S. Soldiers in Niger Hint at the Shadow War against ISIS in Africa" by Sudarsan Raghavan.

The death of four U.S. soldiers in Niger has focused attention on U.S. efforts to defeat terrorist groups, including ISIS, in Africa. An estimated 6,000 American troops are now assigned to several different locations on the continent.
