The Harvard Business Review published on 4 September 2019 a commentary titled "Why Africa's Industrialization Won't Look Like China's" by Ndubuisi Ekekwe, African Institution of Technology.
The author notes that China's success at industrialization has led many African leaders to pursue policies that mimic the path China took. Despite these efforts, Africa has yet to advance in its industiralization at the same speed China did. The author argues that what worked for China will not work for Africa and proposes a different approach that may at least allow Africa to compete in local markets.
