Is Russia Seizing Its Moment in Africa?

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace posted on 22 October 2019 a question and answer interview titled "Is Russia Seizing Its Moment in Africa?" with Paul Stronski and Aleksandar Vladicic.

The authors argue that Russia is nowhere near restoring the status that the Soviet Union once enjoyed in Africa, let alone China's current role. They urge that the United States should not overestimate Russia's role in Africa and that it should be clear-eyed about the enormous gap between Russia's geopolitical ambitions and its actual capabilities.
