The Somali Media Network posted on 20 December 2020 a half hour interview hosted by Gorse Ismail and titled "Dr. David Shinn on the Current Political Crisis in Ethiopia and Overall Horn of Africa Geopolitics."
The focus of the interview was the current situation in Ethiopia but included the impact on Sudan, Eritrea, and Somalia and the role of Gulf States, Turkey, United States, and European Union in the Horn of Africa.
