China's State Involvement with Private Sector in Africa

Asia Global Online published on 11 November 2021 a commentary titled "China's Intensified Private Commercial Engagement in Africa" by Cao Nanlai, Renmin University of China.

The author comments that Chinese entrepreneurs operating in Africa benefit from their connections with the Chinese state.  This is especially true for relatively large-scale private enterprises in resource-rich African countries.  Chinese state and private business are inextricably intertwined.
