China's Norinco Sends Drones to Benin and Tactical Vehicles to Mali

Military Africa published on 29 March 2023 an article titled "Benin Gets Chinese Drones."

China donated four Norinco type PMR-50 drones to Benin's Ministry of National Defense to improve its security and crime detection amid the emergence of growing terrorist activities.  The drones are equipped with a high-resolution camera that can capture still images and videos from the sky.  It can also be equipped with grenade launchers.

Military Africa published on 30 March 2023 an article titled "Mali Receives Norinco VP11 MRAP and Lynx CS/VP11 ATV."

Mali's military recently received, apparently as a purchase, a large number of VP11 4x4 lightweight mine-resistant ambush protected (MRAP) vehicles and Lynx CS/VP11 all terrain vehicles (ATVs) manufactured by Norinco.  The vehicles will improve the military's capability to combat the insurgency confronting Mali.

These vehicles follow the delivery last year of dozens of Norinco armored vehicles, including VN2C 6x6 infantry fighting vehicles and Dongfeng EQ2050 multi-purpose wheeled vehicles.  Chinese peacekeepers assigned to the UN operation in Mali had earlier deployed the VP11 MRAPs.
