Sudan Armed Forces leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces head Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo were antifipating and gearing up for a confrontation. Both appear to have lost confidence in the political process, shifting instead to war and violence.
