Aljazeera published on 5 January 2024 an article titled "Sudan's Army Chief Al-Burhan Says 'No Reconciliation' with Paramilitary RSF."
Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan promised on 5 January to continue fighting with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), arguing that it had engaged in war crimes. The head of the RSF had earlier proposed the two generals meet to discuss a ceasefire, although many analysts doubted the sincerity of the offer.
