China's Economic Relations with Africa at the Provincial Level

 Megatrends Afrika published in April 2025 a policy brief titled "China in Africa: Shaping Economic Relations Through Subnational Actors" by Hangwei Li.

The policy brief deconstructs China as a unitary actor and highlights the role of provincial and local governments, using Zhejiang Province and Jinhua city as case studies, as integral parts of a multi-layered political architecture that encompasses local, national, and international spheres.  The author identifies several downsides in this subnational approach.  

Nigerian Official Complains of Fake Products from China

 Nigeria's Daily Trust published an article on 23 January 2024 titled "Envoy Cautions Nigerians, Others Against Exporting Fake Products from China" by Abdullateef Salau.

Nigeria's consul general in Shanghai during a visit to Zhejiang Province called on the African business community to stop collaboration with corrupt persons in exporting fake, expired, and substandard goods and products from China to Nigeria and other African countries.  

The Role of Provinces in China-Africa Trade

 The South China Morning Post published on 4 December 2022 an article titled "From Zhejiang to Hunan, Chinese Provinces Are Taking the Reins of Trade with Africa" by Jevans Nyabiage.

The article focuses on the role of Chinese provinces in China-Africa trade, especially Zhejiang Province, which has strong ties with African countries.
