Red Sea Success Story Amid Houthi Attacks

 State Magazine published in November 2023 an article titled "Diplomacy Prevents Ecological Disaster in the Red Sea" by Bradley Brincka

A deteriorating supertanker with 1.1 million barrels of oil was moored for years off the west coast of Yemen and threatened to make the Exxon Valdez oil spill look like child's play by comparison.  A combination of US and UN diplomacy in this conflict zone resulted in the successful offloading of the oil, averting an ecological disaster.

Issues Shaping Africa's Economic Future

The World Bank published in April 2015 its most recent edition of "Africa's Pulse: An Analysis of Issues Shaping Africa's Economic Future."  It looks at 2015 and 2016 with an emphasis on the impact of commodity prices and terms of trade.
