At least 3,000 Ethiopian soldiers are stationed in Somalia as part of an African Union peacekeeping mission and an estimated 5,000 to 7,000 are in the country under a bilateral agreement. Somalia announced that all Ethiopian troops will have to leave if the Ethiopia-Somaliland MOU that includes construction of a port is not repealed by the end of June.
