Migration Across the Red Sea

The American Enterprise Institute published on 24 June 2019 an analysis titled "People Problems between the Gulf and the Horn of Africa" by Karen E. Young.

There has been a pattern of migration from the Horn of Africa to the Arabian Peninsula, often via Yemen. But new patterns suggest a return of migrants from the Gulf is stressing the fragile social and physical infrastructure of Ethiopia. Combined with significant youth unemployment and a fractured political system, this is putting increasing pressure on the ability of the government of Ethiopia to maintain stability.
