7 African Countries Join Condemnation of Putin's War against Ukraine

Axios published on 25 February 2022 an article titled "Mapped: 87 Countries Condemn Russia's Invasion of Ukraine at the UN" by Dave Lawler.

87 countries either voted for or co-sponsored a draft UN Security Council resolution (vetoed by Russia) deploring Russia's invasion of Ukraine.  This included 7 of 54 countries in Africa: Kenya, Ghana, Gabon, Niger, Botswana, Liberia, and Lesotho.

Comment:  African countries normally shy away from criticizing major powers.  It is surprising that 7 of them stepped up to single out Russia for criticism.
