The Washington Post published on 7 March 2025 an article titled "A Turkish Arms Firm Helped Fuel Sudan's Brutal Civil War, Records Show" by Katharine Houreld and Elizabeth Dwoskin.
The Turkish company, Baykar, signed in 2023 a $120 million contract with the Sudanese military's procurement agency for weapons, including TB2 drones and hundreds of warheads. The first shipment arrived in Port Sudan in August 2024.
