Sudan: Rapid Support Forces Atrocities in Darfur

 The Washington Post published on 12 December 2025 an article titled "In Sudan, Thousands Held Hostage for Ransom -- And Killed if They Can't Pay" by Katharine Houreld and Hafiz Haroun.  

Following the capture of the capital of North Darfur, El Fasher, by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) from the Sudan Armed Forces, the RSF has engaged in horrific atrocities as documented in this account.

Ethiopian Migrants Killed Trying to Enter Saudi Arabia

 Human Rights Watch published on 21 August 2023 a report titled "'They Fired On Us Like Rain' Saudi Arabia Mass Killings of Ethiopian Migrants at the Yemen-Saudi Border."

Between March 2022 and June 2023, Human Rights Watch research indicates that Saudi border guards killed hundreds of Ethiopian migrants as they tried to cross from Yemen to Saudi Arabia in search of work or asylum.

Russian Mercenaries Behind Killings in Mali

 The New York Times published on 31 May 2022 an article titled "'The Killings Didn't Stop.'  In Mali, a Massacre With a Russian Footprint" by Elian Peltier, Mady Camara, and Christaan Triebert.

Mercenaries employed by the Russian Wagner Group have been implicated in a mass killing in Mali.  Russia and China blocked a vote of the UN Security Council on an independent investigation.
