Former Senior Hong Kong and Senegalese Officials Accused of Bribery

The South China Morning Post published on 21 November 2017 an article titled "Former Hong Kong Home Secretary Patrick Ho Arrested in US over Alleged Africa Bribery Scheme."

The article reports that US officials have accused former Hong Kong home secretary and the former foreign minister of Senegal of arranging multi-million dollar bribes on behalf of CEFC China Energy, a Shanghai-based energy company. High level officials in Uganda and Chad were allegedly the targets of the bribes.

CEFC China Energy denied the allegation in an article published by the Global Times on 22 November 2017 titled "Firm Denies Chinese Heads Major Bribery Scheme in Africa."
