Ethiopia Insight published on 26 January 2020 a book review titled "Abiy's Homespun Balancing Act: Medemer Reviewed" by Linda Yohannes, an Ethiopian writer living in Addis Ababa.
This is a favorable review of a book currently available only in Amharic by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. The book spells out Abiy's political philosophy and compares "medemer" with the doctrine of "ubuntu" in southern Africa and the Swahili concept of "ujamaa."
