Russia, China, and the US in the Central African Republic

The US Institute of Peace published on 19 December 2019 an analysis titled "Amid the Central African Republic's Search for Peace, Russia Steps In. Is China Next?" by Leslie Minney, Rachel Sullivan, and Rachel Vandenbrink.

The authors describe Russia's significant engagement in the CAR and wonder if China is poised to become more active there. But the United States is also a major provider of aid to the CAR and trying to implement its Africa policy based on countering China and Russia. What does this portend for the CAR?
