The Foreign Policy Research Institute published on 12 January 2021 an analysis titled "The Way Forward for the United States in Somalia" by Stephen M. Schwartz, former US ambassador to Somalia.
The author recommends, among other proposals, that the Biden administration reverse the Trump administration's decision to withdraw almost all US forces from Somalia.
