The Africa Report published on 14 January 2022 an article titled "Africa's Debt Situation Remains Worrying . . . . But There Is Good News."
China now accounts for about one-fifth of all lending to Africa. It is an essential player in any solution to Africa's debt. China is moving to a new development paradigm with a focus on supporting SMEs, human capital investment, green development, and an emphasis on FDI rather than loan financing.
