The Interntional Crisis Group published on 10 August 2023 a report titled "The Fallout in Chad from the Fighting in Darfur" by Enrica Picco.
In the first three months of fighting in Sudan's Darfur region, about 330,000 Sudanese refugees and 50,000 Chadian citizens have fled Darfur for Chad. Consequently, eastern Chad is struggling to accommodate the new arrivals. There is growing pressure on the government of Chad to pick a side in the conflict.
