Stratfor, a geopolitical intelligence platform based in Austin, Texas, published on 1 November 2017 a commentary titled "U.S. Ignores Sub-Saharan Africa at Its Own Peril."
The commentary concludes that the rise of terrorism has driven home the reality that the United States can't afford to disregard sub-Saharan Africa. Recent developments in the Sahel region underscore this fact.
