The Center for Strategic and International Studies China Power Project recently published a study titled "How Are Foreign Rail Construction Projects Advancing China's Interests?"
This study looks at China's rail construction contracts around the world. From 2013-2019, Africa accounted for 34 percent of China's rail contracts, the second highest percentage by region after Asia. Nigeria was the world's largest recipient of Chinese rail construction during this period.
