The US deputy ambassador to the United Nations lashed out at Russia's Wagner Group during a UN Security Council meeting on West Africa and the Sahel, accusing its paramilitary forces of failing to address the extremist threat, robbing countries of their natural resources, committing human rights abuses, and endangering the safety and security of UN peacekeepers and staff. Representatives of France and the United Kingdom joined the condemnation of the Wagner Group mercenaries.
